Paper Rosette

Another card using pieces from the Christmas Banner Kit.

The first thing that you notice is the large rosette, the kit contains 4 ready scored pieces of designer paper just waiting to be folded and turned into a rosette.  Of course these look lovely on the banners, but great on a square card too.

The glittery die cut snowflake is part of the kit, along with a large rhinestone attched to the centre.

I love the "Expressions Thinlits" dies that work with the Big Shot, I have had lots of use of the "Merry" greeting from this set.

The background is gently stamped with "Gorgeous Grunge" to add some interest and it almost looks like snow, except of course that snow is white and not Coastal Cabana!

The card is quite deep so we made an envelope using the new Envelope Punch Board, here you can see the depth.

Christmas Banner Kit Projects

So today was spent mostly on the road, as Jason is away car racing in Snetterton it was down to me to drive Jack to Leeds to buy a new car!!  We left at around 8.00am and didn't arrive home till nearly 5.00pm.  A 3 hour drive each way with a little stop in between "doing the deal"!!  I found the driving really tiring and glad that we have a taxi arranged to take us to Manchester for the 2013 Convention in less than 2 weeks time.  I am getting so excited but have so many tasks to complete in the meantime.

Onto another project using the Simply Created "Christmas Banner Kit"

So here is the kit itself

For £8.95 you get
Die Cut Glittery Snowflake Accents
4 Patterned Paper Strips pre-scored for rosettes
Patterned Paper Circles for Rosette Centres
Large Rhinestones
2 Pieces of Silver 1/8" Ribbon
2 Pieces 2-tone Ribbon in Bermuda Bay/Pool Party
Whisper White 5/8" Taffeta Ribbon
5 Faceted Designer Buttons

Here is a card I created with parts of the kit.  You can see I used Ribbons, a Rhinestone and a Patterened Paper circle.  The 1 1/4" Two Tone ribbon is gorgeous.

Here's a closer shot of the ribbon

I used the "Flower Shop" set for the pansy flower then the single stamp "Magnificent Maple" which has so much detail on.  The greeting is from the "Wetlands" stamp set die cut using a framelit from the new "Thinlits Circle Card" set.

I hope you are enjoying the projects I have created with the kit, come back soon for some more inspiration.

Snowflake Thinlits Circle Card

I recently ran a class which included the Christmas Banner Simply Created Kit and I wanted to show how versatile it was rather than what it was intended for.  At last months Quarterly training with Amanda we also used the kit and it was very inspiring!

Firstly I haven't used much of the kit on this card but as the new Thinlits Card dies had just been released I needed to share it with everyone!

The only pieces I used from the kit was the strip of patterned paper to the bottom right which is pre-scored and designed to use to make a rosette and also the White Taffeta ribbon.

So here is the card closed, with the weather being so grim it has been difficult trying to get a good picture.

By placing the cardstock in the die the non-conventional way we get an "extended" version of the card by having the extra panel to the right.

We did a little stamping on the front white panel using "Gorgeous Grunge" then the snowflake is from the "Festive Flurry" set which has matching Framelits Dies to cut the images out.

Then, as you open it out, the circle "flips" around which is just so clever, I love the idea and so easy to achieve.

It is easy to create the panels with the semi circles cut out and if requested I will post some pictures of how this is done.

At first the card looks complicated, but it really can be whipped up in a flash with the help of the Thinlits Card die.

Final Project

The final project from my "Pretty Packaging" class is here to share, the Tag a Bag Boxes are so useful.  I love how you can add a bit of creativity and encase a multitude of gifts inside from sweet treats to more elaborate gifts.

The acetate sleeve works perfectly keeping everything safe inside but visible enough to peak!  I have used so many of these to give gifts in and they are great value too.

On this box I made a lid to cover the interior for a different look, it just slides on and off with the acetate cover.  Again the same style tag as the other projects, using the "For You" image from the Chalk Talk stamp set.

I also added a handle, again to show how to make the box look different although this one has got a little creased upon it's travels to workshops and classes!

I have so many creations to share with you, I haven't even got around to showing you the projects from my Christmas all day class that was in September!

So don't forget about the latest offers and promotions:

The two Tag It packages which include the Stamp a Tag Kit, Cherry Cobbler Ribbon and either the Window Boxes or XL Gift Boxes, priced at £16.95 and £17.95, a saving of 20% on the usual selling price

And the amazing Thinlits Cards Dies, available in Label or Circle option

Notepad Holder

So the next item we made at my "Pretty Packaging" class was this notepad holder.

During my trip to Salt Lake City for the Incentive Trip this year, we had napkins presented inside a Chevron Bag like this, with the ribbon tied through holes and I really liked the idea so used it to make a pouch.

Inside we decorated a notepad and pen insert, a perfect gift.

The flowers are from the "Flower Shop" stamp set, available as a bundle with the matching "Pansy Punch" which saves you 15% when purchased together.

We used some of the White Pressed Simply Clay and moulds to create the flower centre, love how these flowers are so detailed yet so light and weightless!

The top of the bag was folded over then the gorgeous Chevron Ribbon threaded through punched holes.
