Double Pocket Pouch

This little Double Pocket Pouch is really popular with everyone, it is so simple to create the pouch and can be decorated to suit so many different occasions.

 

As the "Reason to Smile" stamp set is on promotion during this month I thought I would re-create the pouch to match a card that I recently shared with you.

 

 

The patterned papers are from the "Sweet Shop" pack which will sadly be unavailable after August as they are in the Summer Mini Catalogue.

 

The pockets on the Pouch could contain a Mini Notecard and Sweet Treat or gift.  You can even fold it "inside out" so that the pockets are on the inside and then decorate the plain sides.

A little Gift

I always like to give a little gift to one of the guests at a home workshop and this was what I had created for Lucy's.  I used the "Two-step Bird Punch" to create the Christmas Robbin using the colours Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler, I stamped his wing using one of the beautiful decorative flourish stamps from the "Tiny Tags" set.  The "merry" greeting is also from "Tiny Tags", punched out with the co-ordinating Medium Jewelery Tag Punch.  My gift bag base was Crumb Cake cardstock and onto this I used stamps from the "Serene Snowflakes" with Kraft Whisper White ink which is gorgeous.  To finish I tied Gold Elastic cord at the top in a bow.

Getting there...

Well I finally finished my first batch of Christmas Cards, phew but still have more to make!!  It is surprising how much time is spent putting everything together but I am pleased with the results, quite contemporary but I like them, hope you do too!!

For this design I used "Playful Pieces", a Level 3 Hostess Set which is just so cute, so many different elements to this set, the possibilities are endless!

For the other design I used the Poinsettia stamp from the "Season of Joy" set.  For both cards I used a Soft Suede card base and stamped snowflakes from the "Serene Snowflakes" set in Soft Suede and Kraft Whisper White inks.  I used Cherry Cobbler on the Poinsettia Card and Riding Hood Red on the Present one.



Christmas Cards.....

I am running a little behind with my Christmas cards, well they are half ready, just waiting to be assembled.  I made myself a vow to make Christmas cards regularly throughout the year this year, but it just never happened, I managed to make 4 in January and that was as far as I got!  Maybe I will run a monthly Christmas Card Class where we make a stack of cards each time then come Christmas there is no rush as they are already done!!  Watch this space for more details!

So here are my cards in preparation for assembly, I will need to make more batches but little by little and I will probably change the design and colour combo for the next ones!

I have used Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler and Baja Breeze teamed with Very Vanilla, how yummy!!  I included some of the gorgeous "Jolly Holiday" Designer Series Paper which is a favourite of mine at the moment.  I used the stamp sets "Season of Joy" for the Poinsettia, "Serene Snowflakes" for the card base background and "Tiny Tags" for that cute little "merry" greeting.

Ornate Flowers

As a Demonstrator for Stampin' Up! I am able to pre-order products before they are released to the general public and also get sneak peaks of Catalogues etc and this is one of the sets I pre-ordered, "Ornate Flowers" which is just gorgeous.

My colour combination is Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz and Baja Breeze.  "Ornate Flowers" is available in Wood Mount and Clear Mount and I chose the Clear Mount option which I just love.  The Clear Mounts come in a DVD style case, they take up less storage space, they are cheaper than wood mount and the results are just as impressive!  All you need to do is invest in a couple of clear mount blocks and you are well away, they are so easy to mount too!

The Designer Series Paper is from "Greenhouse Gala" and it really is gorgeous, I know I say that about everything Stampin' Up! but it's true!!  I stamped the flower image in Pear Pizzazz and then again in Early Espresso and hand cut the flower head from the Early Espresso one, layering it on top of the Pear Pizzazz one to give a decoupage effect.  I used "Tiny Tags" for the greeting and punched it out with the co-ordinating Jewelery Tag punch and tied to a piece of the 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon in Early Espresso.  The leaves were punched from the Two-Step Bird Punch and the tiny circles to the right of the card were punched using the 1/8" handheld punch to which I added Crystal Effects.

I will be putting a class together using these "Greenhouse Gala", details to follow shortly.

Just Saying Hello

This is a card I sent to one of the ladies in my team Georgina who I haven't seen for a little while and I have a couple more cards that I need to send but time has been taken up with other things recently so I will get there eventually!

I used the "Kissing Technique" here which I have been using a lot recently with the "Flower Accent" single stamp and "Fine Flourish" mini background stamp.  My colour combo is Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede and So Saffron, yummy don't you think, I even squeezed in some Pale Plum which is soon to be retired along with the 1/4" Circle Punch which I am devestated about.  This card was taken from a sketch challenge which makes the designing of a card much faster and easier than starting from scratch.  George, hope you liked your card and look forward to getting together to craft soon!

A Hearty Thank You

For this Thank You card I used "I Heart Hearts" stamps along with "Tiny Tags" and "Trendy Trees" (for the greeting).

My colour combo is Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive teamed with Whisper White which I love.  I punched a Rich Razzleberry heart using the Large Heart Punch and added a small clear Rhinestone brad and a tag stamped with "thanks so much" from the "Tiny Tags" set which I puched out using the Medium Jewlery Tag punch.  I stamped two hearts, one Old Olive and one Rich Razzleberry and hand cut them, layering them over the large heart.  I added a gorgeous Old Olive button from the Playground Buttons pack and tied with Silver Elastic Cord.

My greeting was stamped and punched out with the Word Window Punch then layered on an Old Olive Scallop Oval punch which has been hand cut to fit around the Word Window punched greeting.  I added a border using the Scallop Border punch and tied some of the Polka Dot Ribbon around my DSP layer.  Quite sweet, don't you think!

Christmas in July Class

Yesterday I held one of my day classes "Christmas in July" and I will be re-running this as an evening class, dates to follow shortly.

We made 6 delightful Christmas Cards, all using the gorgeous "Serene Snowflakes" stamp set, I really love this set it is so pretty and can be used in so many different ways.

We made six cards in total, 3 designs, 2 of each colourway, Old Olive/Chocolate Chip and Old Olive/Rich Razzleberry.  We also used the "Merry Christmas" greeting from "Season of Joy" stamp set and the Jumbo Wheel "So Swirly" along with the cute "Tiny Tags" and these all worked together lovely.  Here's a close up of the cards:

 We used Versamark and Silver Embossing Powder on some of the Snowflake images and then the "Platinum Shimmer Paint" on others, both looked equally nice.  With the Shimmer Paint you just use a dauber to apply it to the rubber stamp and then stamp onto your cardstock as you would normally.  This really gives a lovely silver shimmery image, gorgeous!

We also used embellishments from the Pretties Kit and Old Olive 5/8" Satin Ribbon.  We had a lovely afternoon crafting and it is surprising where the time goes!

Inspirin' Inking Quarterly Team Meeting Challenge

At June's Quarterly Team Meeting Amanda's Challenge was to decorate a glass tumbler into something that we could give to a hostess at a home workshop.  Here is my creation, a decorated glass filled with some lovely "Sweet Pea Stitched Felt" and some co-ordinating ribbons.    I cut a square of DSP from the "Sweet Pea Stack", cut it in half diagonally which left me with two triangles.  I only needed one of these and added strips punched from the Scallop Border Punch around the edges to create a bird house effect.  I punched a whole near the top using the 1 3/8" Circle Punch and encased it with a Scallop Circle with the centre punched out.  I stamped onto a piece of Window Sheet using the Dot, Dot, Dot stamp and StazOn ink to create my dotty window.  My bird and branch were punched from the "Two-step Bird Punch" and I stamped over the bird with the foliage stamp from the "Vintage Vogue" stamp set using VersaMark ink.  I adhered these pieces then tied a bow using the gorgeous Old Olive 5/8" Satin Ribbon and finished with a flower and leaf from the "Stitched Felt" pack.  My cello bag was tied with Chocolate Chip 5/8" Satin Ribbon and I added some tags punched out using the Medium Jewelery Tag Punch then to finish I attached these on with a piece of Linen Thread.

Birthday Friend

I have been wanting to use these two colours for a couple of weeks, inspired by a packet of crisps for the colour combo!!!  Rich Razzleberry teamed with Tempting Turquoise, just lovely.  It is my daughter's friends birthday today, "Happy Birthday Louise" so I decided to try the colours out on her card and I have to say I really loved the results.  The picture really does not do it any justice!

I have used "I {heart} Hearts" for the main stamp images and then added some tags using the "Tiny Tags" stamp set and Medium Jewelry Tag Punch.  The "Friend" heart is layered with a Tempting Turquoise heart which has been punched using the Heart Punch.  I added some Polka Dot Rich Razzleberry Ribbon to finish.

I layered up my hearts using Dimensionals to make them stand out and added some punched circles to the right hand side of the card using the 1/4 and 1/8" circle punches.

So addictive!

It's true, these little bird houses are so addictive to make, I keep trying them in different colours and they are just so sweet.  The perfect little gift!

For this one I used some of the So Saffron Patterns Designer Paper and these packs are just so versatile.  You get 12 sheets of patterned paper which are all double sided and all in one colour way.  My dotty window is created using the Dot, Dot, Dot stamp using Stazon Ink onto the Window Sheets.

More Thank You's

These "Thank You's" were created using the "Flight of the Butterfly" set and I used the lovely new "Rich Razzleberry" along with Pale Plum.  My DSP is "Cottage Wall", one of the 11 New Products but remember, this pack won't be around for long so if you are liking what you see, you need to be ordering it before it disappears!!

Once again "Tiny Tags" has made an appearance, these tiny little greetings that fit perfectly inside the Medium Jewelery Tag punch are just so sweet and I love them to bits. There are a great variety of them to choose from in this set as it comes complete with 17 stamps and some of them are lovely accents.

My butterfly base is stamped in Pale Plum then using the Stamp-a-ma-jig I stamped the flowers over the top in Rich Razzlebery, then punched the whole thing out with the Butterfly Punch, could it get any easier!

I used the Eyelet Border Punch at the bottom of the card to add some prettiness (is there such a word?!?!).  I used the square scallop punch to create my scalloped rectangle on which the Butterfly sits.

Thank You's

Once again I am in need of Thank You cards, and when I am at a loose end, which isn't very often, I make myself a batch of Thank You's to keep me going.

I used one of the stamps from the "True Friend" set and also "Tiny Tags" for the greetings on the punched out tags.  I would normally have used Linen Thread to tie a bow on the tags but it seems to have vanished into thin air so I had to resort to the Silver Elastic Cord which works well.  To notch out the corners on the image layer I used the 1/4" Circle Punch.  These colours, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip and Close to Cocoa really do work well together and on this card I added some of the Patterns Designer Series Paper in co-ordinating So Saffron.  My decorative border was created using the lovely "Eyelet Border Punch".

Its a Gift!

These little bird houses are everywhere at the moment, and you can see why, they are just so tweeet!  This is one that I made as a gift at a recent workshop, great for filling with yummy chocolates or sweet treats and great to just say "thank you" in its own simplicity.

I used the "Dot, Dot, Dot" background stamp with Black Stazon ink onto some of the medium window sheets and cut a square large enough to cover the circle behind the birdy, of course you can buy the "Night and Day" Designer Series Paper pack which includes two 12x12" sheets of pre-printed dotty window sheet which you can find in the Mini Catalogue.

My flower is stamped using "Vintage Vogue" and of course my bird and branch are punched out using the "Two step Bird Punch".

Birthday Treat

I needed to gift wrap a stamp set that I was giving to a friend for her birthday, albeit a little late, so I decided on using the lovely Rich Razzleberry cardstock teamed with some Soft Suede.  I stamped the Rich Razzleberry cardstock randomly with a stamp from "Tiny Tags" in Whisper White Craft Ink and I was really pleased with the result, it was so pretty.  I punched a couple of tags using the Tag Punches and adhered a stamed flower from "Vintage Vogue" and tied a knot at the top using the lovely Polka Dot Soft Suede ribbon.

Lou, I hope you liked the stamp set, I had heard you mention that you liked this one ages ago so will be looking forward to seeing your creations made with it!

So Chic!

Another request for a handbag card so this time I used the "Nouveau Chic" Designer Series Papers which are so lovely in real life, the pictures in the catalogue just don't give them justice!

I matched my cardstock to the papers and used a sketch from a Challenge blog that I liked.  My flower was created using the Scallop Circle Punch with a button adhered to the centre.  The "Happy Birthday" greeting running along under the hand bags is from "Big Bold Birthday" and I stamped this in Basic Black ink and used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to create a whole line of greetings.

I used "Tiny Tags" to stamp the word "friends" and punched out using the Medium Jewelry Punch which is so cute.

Weddings

Another wedding card, this time using the "Vintage Vogue" foliage stamp for my background, stamped in Versa Mark ink to give that lovely watermark effect, so soft and subtle, just perfect for this wedding card.  My bird was punched out in Pretty in Pink from the "Two Step Bird Punch" and stamped with the foliage stamp in Versa Mark, then I inked around the edges using a dauber to add depth.

The branch was also punched from the "Two Step Bird Punch" in Kraft cardstock to co-ordinate with the rest of the card.  I stamped "Mr & Mrs" from the "Tiny Tags" set and punched out using the Medium Jewelry Tag punch and then attached with Linen Thread, through a button on top of the Kraft Taffeta Ribbon.  I needed to personalise my greeting so I printed from my computer on Very Vanilla Cardstock and cut out, using the corner rounder then added some flat back pearls at the top to finish.

Just for the Girls!

I have been busy making cards by request and here is one of them using the Oval, Scallop Oval and Circle punches to create cute little handbags.  I am a big lover of Rose Red and Chocolate Chip when it comes to girly cards but I managed to steer away on this occasion and use Old Olive teamed with So Saffron!  The spotty Old Olive patterned paper is from the Sweet Pea Stack, such a great value pad of 12x12" papers, I just adore it. 

The "Happy Birthday" circle image is from "Wow Flowers" and I printed the word "Sister" on the computer and stamped the Dotty Tag stamp to frame it from "Tiny Tags" then punched out using the Medium Jewelry Tag punch, tying with a bow using the Silver Elastic Cord.  I added 3 Old Olive brads to balance the card.

Sweet Pea Sweetie

I just love the new Sweet Pea DSP Stack, 48 12x12 sheets of gorgeous double sided Designer Series Paper, just perfect for your cards and scrapbook layouts.

I bravely cut into the stack, after stroking it for a long time and came up with this card, a sketch I had seen on a challenge blog.  I used the "Two-Step Bird Punch" for the bird and branch, and Jewelry Tag Punch to punch out the tag with the stamped "hello".  My colours are Not Quite Navy, Old Olive and Barely Banana, although the 5/8" ribbon is So Saffron but it blends well.
