Owl Swing Card

For August's card class we made this Owl "Swing Card" using the Top Note Die with the Big Shot Machine.

Please excuse the poor quality of my pictures, the lighting just wasn't right and the flash made it worse!!

I thought it would be nice to create a card for the younger generation and the Owl Punch is great for achieving this look, but of course by just changing the colour combination it could be recreated for young and old alike, male or female!

So quite primary colours here, Real Red, Marina Mist, Old Olive and some Early Espresso.  This Owl is just toooooo cute!!

I showed everyone how you can create the "swing" on your card using the Top Note Die with the Big Shot Machine, too complicated to explain without showing, so if you are interested in learning how, why not book youself a party and I will come along and show you too!  At the same time you could earn yourself some free Stampin' Up! products, just ask me how.

Back to the card, we used some of the Marina Mist spotty patterend papers from the "Subtles" Designer Series Paper stack and the circle behind the Owl is from "Woodland Walk" which has two lovely sheets of woodgrain papers, just perfect for masculine cards and projects.

The leaf was die cut using the "Little Leaves" Sizzlits die and the greeting is from the stamp set "Party This Way", which I love, the font is so youthful.  We punched this out using the Word Window Punch and layered with a "Modern Label" punch out in Early Espresso cardstock.

Workshop Make & Take variation

This is the other version of my April make and takes, something suitable for the younger ones which would look equally nice in pinks!  We used the same sketch as the previous design just changed the stamped images.  We also added some Dazzling Diamonds to one of the Balloons but it is difficult to see from the photograph.

We used the "Perfect Polka Dots" Embossing Folder with the Big Shot Machine on the Baja Breeze layer, I just love how these textured folders change a piece of plain cardstock into something so pretty and decorative!

Party this way!

It was my nephew's birthday yesterday and here is the card that I made for him.

My colour combo is Soft Suede, Baja Breeze and Very Vanilla.  I used the set "Party this Way" which I got at Convention this year, this was one of the sets that was inside my exclusive Stampin' Up! satchel! 

The patterned papers are from "Elegant Soiree" Designer Series Paper pack.

I was inspired for this card by a make and take that we completed at Convention, by using the "Party this Way" arrow from the set and making it "spin" using a brad.  I added some of the 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain tying in a knot to finish.
