Faux Silk Butterflies

Our first card for June's classes involved a technique called "Faux Silk".  For this technique you need to stamp your main image/images onto tissue paper, screw it up into a ball, undo it carefully and then attach it to a piece of Whisper White Cardstock which you have covered with Tombow or similar wet glue, smoothing down with a Paper Folding tool then trimming off the excess.

We used the Butterfly image from "Strength & Hope" and the large foliage stamp from "Just Believe" to stamp onto the tissue paper.  The greeting is from "Sincere Salutations".

Our colour combination is Concorde Crush (In Colour), Peach Parfait (In Colour) and Old Olive teamed with Whisper White.  The ribbon is the Stitched Poly in co-ordinating Concorde Crush.  The patterned paper is from the In Colour Paper Stack.

We punched out our greeting using the XL Oval Punch and then layered it onto one of the Sizzlits Labels cut using the Big Shot Machine.

The 3D Flower was created using the Boho Blossom Punch, spritzing and scrunching them to give a distressed look and adding a flower centre using one of the Bitty Punches and some Crystal Effects.

Elegant Wishes

Our first project at this month's Thornbury Class was this "Elegant" Card, using a colour combination of Elegant Eggplant, Always Artichoke and Very Vanilla.

The stamps we used were "Greenhouse Garden", "En Francais" and "Sincere Salutations".
We used Very Vanilla 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon on the flower stem which we coloured in using the Always Artichoke Marker Pen with the brush tip.  I also had some Perfect Plum Patterns DSP which blended perfectly with these colours so we added a layer behind the greeting.

For the flower we used the Stamping Off technique where we stamped the base of the flower into Elegant Eggplant ink, then stamped it off onto our grid paper before stamping directly onto Very Vanilla Cardstock.  This gives your image a paler colour to which we added the second part of the flower using the same colour ink direct from the stamp pad with the stamp-a-ma-jig for placement over the top of the first stamped image.  This is of course as you may know, 2 Step Stampin'.  We added a Clear Rhinestone Brad to the centre of the flower and finished off our card with a greeting from "Sincere Salutations".

Whitminster Card Making Class

With Greenhouse Garden being one of the stamps included in the August Promotion with 20% off its normal selling price, I decided to use it at our monthly class to show its true beauty.

Our slider card had a colour combination of Rich Razzleberry, Orchid Opulence, Certainly Celery and Whisper White, teamed with some of the gorgeous "Cottage Wall" DSP.  We used "En Francais" to create our background on a stamped panel and then stamped flowers from "Greenhouse Garden" hand cutting them and placing them over stamped stems.  We used "Sincere Salutations" for our greeting, a fabulous set that I use time and time again.

Here is the inside, just a simple stamped flower but you could add more if you wanted to:
The ribbon is 1/4" Grosgrain in matching Certainly Celery, this width is perfect for using with slider cards.

I had a busy week last week with classes/workshops so didn't really get much time for being creative but I did need to make yet another thank you card.  What lovely colours these are, Rich Razzleberry, Pale Plum and Certainly Celery, mmmmm!

I have been using the "Flight of the Butterfly" set for my demonstrations at this month's home workshops so decided to use it while I had it out.  I used the co-ordinating Butterfly punch and added a Designer Button to the centre of the stamped butterfly.  I couldn't resist the Polka Dot ribbon tied in a knot to blend in with the "Cottage Garden" DSP I used.  My greeting is from "Sincere Salutations".

Sorry for the brief post, I am busy planning for the Extravaganza, places are now slipping away so if you are interested in coming along, don't delay, get yourself booked before you miss out.

Thanks for stopping by

Thanks so much

I always appreciate the efforts that my hostess' put into their SU Parties and what better way to say thank you than by sending a hand stamped card.
This design was taken from the current catalogue, just tweeked it a little and I realised that I just don't use "Trendy Trees" enough as it is so versatile.

Once again, my fave colours, Chocolate Chip, Rose Red and Old Olive.  I used the Die Cut "Blooms" to draw around as a template to create my Rose Red 5 Petal Flower and added an Old Olive brad to the centre.  My greeting is from the wonderful, well used set, "Sincere Salutations".

Vintage Vogue Pizza Box

I have been planning on running some extra classes to make 3D projects but never got any further than trying to sort out dates that were convenient for those wanting to attend so last week we agreed on a date and I set to work planning the project.  Originally I had set aside several Saturday's for extra classes but found that most people already had family commitments so if any of you local ladies have something in mind you would like to do, just give me a shout and I can organise an evening to suit!

Anyway, onto last night's creation.  The request for last night was a Pizza style box that contained mini cards and a Pop Up Treat Holder!  As I am loving "Vintage Vogue" so much I had to sneak it onto these projects so spent Sunday (in the motorhome between my son's races) planning the box and contents.  The colours I chose are of course my favourites at present, Old Olive, Rose Red and Chocolate Chip, what a combination!
Here is a close up:
We used "Vintage Vogue" for the flowers and foliage then the greetings are from "Sincere Salutations" and made four cards all in different colour combinations with different greetings on.  We also stamped inside on the inserts.

The Pop Up Treat Holder is quite quick and easy to create, just as well, as we were running over time (nothing unusual there!).  Once again, using the same stamps as for the Pizza Box, we stamped the foliage all over the Rose Red Card to create a background then layered strips of Chocolate Chip, Old Olive and Very Vanilla accross the middle of the holder and ahdered at the back.  Our flowers were stamped and hand cut, a Rhinestone Brad attached and then Dimensionals to layer and adhere to the holder.  The 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon is just perfect for this project and when you pull up on the bow, the hidden treat is revealed!

If you would like to come along for an evening of stamping, chatting and fun, just email me or give me a call for further details.  I am available for classes during the day and also offer one-to-one crafting sessions.

Thank you for stopping by, and thank you to those lovely ladies who came along last night to create these projects, I hope you had fun!

Boxed Cards

I love making these little Pizza Style boxes and filling them with cute greeting cards, they make a great little gift.

On this occasion I have used the fabulous "Circle Circus" which comprises of 10 gorgeous stamps.  I used Rose Red teamed with Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery.  I also used some of the Designer Series Patterns Papers in Rose Red.  The greetings are all from "Sincere Salutations.
