Swaps for High Wycombe

This is my swap that I designed for the High Wycombe Training last month.  I created 40 card fronts and half way through wished I had made them a little simpler!  I used the "Kissing Technique" on the "Flower Accent" stamp so had to clean my stamp between every use!  I kissed the "Flower Accent" stamp with the "Fine Flourish" mini background stamp in the lovely new "Pear Pizzazz" ink then hand cut them out using a dauber around the edges to define it.

My colour combo is Soft Suede, Pear Pizzazz, Bashful Blue and Whisper White.

The greeting stamp is from a new set called "Perfect Punches" and I trimmed it down with the Plain Oval Punch, the actual image has a scallop edge like the Bashful Blue layer behind.  The circes were punched from the 1/4" Circle Punch which I am very sad to say has now retired and I added Crystal Effects to these to make them shine!

Make and Take

On Thursday night I had a workshop for Janet and here is the make and take that everyone created.  Now there was a mixture of seasoned crafters and "never before" crafters and although the card involved the use of the "Stamp-a-ma-jig" everyone coped very well.  We used "Flight of the Butterfly" stamps which are so gorgeous and also "Dot, Dot, Dot" the mini background stamp and one of the greetings from "Basic Phrases".

Our colour combination was Perfect Plum, Pale Plum (soon to be retired, awww) and Certainly Celery, teamed with Very Vanilla cardstock for the stamping.

The evening flew by so quickly and everyone was very impressed with their completed cards.  Thank you Janet for inviting your friends along for a lovely evening and I am sure you will be looking forward to receiving your free hostess goodies soon!

Mums and Young Ones Class

This week I held a one off class for "Mums and Young Ones", an opportunity for mums and grans to get creative with their young ones during the summer holidays.

So here is the card we created using "Big Bold Birthday", which is in the Stampin' Up! August Promotion, usual price is £23.95 but the 20% reduction brings its price down to a fabulous £19.16.  Remember, this offer only runs until 31st August.

So back to our card, colour combo is Rose Red, Pretty in Pink and Kraft, gorgeous, so sweet and pretty!  We used the Dot, Dot, Dot background stamp to create our sprinkles on the cake frosting and hand cut it out and used a Dimensional to raise it from our Whisper White layer.  The "make a wish" greeting was punched out using the Word Window Punch and the Pretty in Pink heart using the Small Heart Punch which can be found in the Mini Catalogue.

I was really impressed with the finished results and our youngest member of 8 years old completed the card with ease, well done Hannah, your card was beautifully put together.  As everyone enjoyed themselves I have agreed to set aside another day during the holidays to get creative so keep an eye out for more details.

Inspirin' Inking Quarterly Team Meeting Challenge

At June's Quarterly Team Meeting Amanda's Challenge was to decorate a glass tumbler into something that we could give to a hostess at a home workshop.  Here is my creation, a decorated glass filled with some lovely "Sweet Pea Stitched Felt" and some co-ordinating ribbons.    I cut a square of DSP from the "Sweet Pea Stack", cut it in half diagonally which left me with two triangles.  I only needed one of these and added strips punched from the Scallop Border Punch around the edges to create a bird house effect.  I punched a whole near the top using the 1 3/8" Circle Punch and encased it with a Scallop Circle with the centre punched out.  I stamped onto a piece of Window Sheet using the Dot, Dot, Dot stamp and StazOn ink to create my dotty window.  My bird and branch were punched from the "Two-step Bird Punch" and I stamped over the bird with the foliage stamp from the "Vintage Vogue" stamp set using VersaMark ink.  I adhered these pieces then tied a bow using the gorgeous Old Olive 5/8" Satin Ribbon and finished with a flower and leaf from the "Stitched Felt" pack.  My cello bag was tied with Chocolate Chip 5/8" Satin Ribbon and I added some tags punched out using the Medium Jewelery Tag Punch then to finish I attached these on with a piece of Linen Thread.

Inspirin' Inkies Quarterly Team Meeting

As you will know from previous posts, when we have our Inspirin' Inkin Quarterly Team Meeting us Demo's prepare swaps for each other.  These are all the pieces I have cut and stamped ready for the assembly line for my swaps!

I have been using "Big Bold Birthday" on some recent projects so decided to use it again for my swaps.  I chose some of my favourite colours, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink and Kraft and teamed with Whisper White.  I am so glad that these colours will be staying in October when the renovation happens, although Kraft is being re-named as "Crumb Cake" which may be confusing for a while!

So addictive!

It's true, these little bird houses are so addictive to make, I keep trying them in different colours and they are just so sweet.  The perfect little gift!

For this one I used some of the So Saffron Patterns Designer Paper and these packs are just so versatile.  You get 12 sheets of patterned paper which are all double sided and all in one colour way.  My dotty window is created using the Dot, Dot, Dot stamp using Stazon Ink onto the Window Sheets.

Card Class Creation

OK, as promised yesterday, here is the second card we created on Monday night, this card was our "Technique Card".  I was inspired on this one from a swap I received from Elaine at the quarterly team meeting in May and decided to move a few things around a bit and finally came up with this.

We used the "Kissing" Technique on the "Flower Accent" stamp, basically you kiss two stamps together, one of them being a solid stamp and one a patterned one which gives s stunning result that can have so many different variations.

Our background was created using the jumbo wheel "Very Vintage" in Apricot Appeal ink.  We added Mellow Moss Taffeta ribbon to this layer and attached to our Mellow Moss base card.  Our "Flower Accent" was hand cut and adhered with punched out flowers from the "Boho Blossom" punch surrounding it.  We also used the "Two step Bird Punch" to punch out a couple of leaf branches from Always Artichoke card.

Our greeting is from "Say it with Scallops" which co-ordinates with the Scallop Square punch and we used different stamps from this set accordingly to suit.

Its a Gift!

These little bird houses are everywhere at the moment, and you can see why, they are just so tweeet!  This is one that I made as a gift at a recent workshop, great for filling with yummy chocolates or sweet treats and great to just say "thank you" in its own simplicity.

I used the "Dot, Dot, Dot" background stamp with Black Stazon ink onto some of the medium window sheets and cut a square large enough to cover the circle behind the birdy, of course you can buy the "Night and Day" Designer Series Paper pack which includes two 12x12" sheets of pre-printed dotty window sheet which you can find in the Mini Catalogue.

My flower is stamped using "Vintage Vogue" and of course my bird and branch are punched out using the "Two step Bird Punch".

Card Class at Leonard Stanley

So here is the second card we created at the Leonard Stanley Class. This was based on a swap I made for the recent Inspirin' Inkies meeting. We used Perfect Plum, Old Olive and Certainly Celery along with Whisper White cardstock.

The flower stamps are from "Vintage Vogue" and we used the Jumbo Wheel "Very Vintage" at the top of the card. We used the gorgeous "Dot, Dot, Dot" background stamp with Old Olive ink, stamping onto Certainly Celery card. Our greeting "friends" was taken from the Friends stamp in the "Vintage Vogue" but instead of using the whole image, we just coloured in the word "friends" with the Perfect Plum Stampin' Wrtite Marker Pen and punched it out with the Word Window Punch. The ribbon we used was Elegant Eggplant 1/4" Grosgrain.

Inspiring Inkies Quarterly Meeting Swaps

On Saturday we had our Quarterly Team Meeting and Myself, Jane, Caroline and Georgina all met at 7.15am to head off for Soberton.  We all had a great day crafting and learning and getting together with the other Demo's in the team that we don't see so often.  Amanda had prepared a wonderful array of tasks for us to complete, including make and takes using the lovely new colours and DSP's and we came away buzzing with inspiration to share with all of our lovely customers and fellow downline members.  At our meetings we always have swaps, these are card fronts that we use as samples and inspiration so here is a peak at mine.

I am afraid to say that I am a little attached to "Vintage Vogue" at the moment hence why it appeared on my swaps!  I used Tempting Turquoise teamed with Old Olive and Certainly Celery, with a little bit of Whisper White.  I also used "Dot, Dot, Dot", one of the new "A La Carte" single background stamps from the Mini Catalogue.  My greeting was taken from the "Friends" stamp in "Vintage Vogue", instead of stamping the whole image, I used my Tempting Turquoise Marker Pen to colour in the word "friends" and then just stamped it onto Whisper White cardstock and punched out with the Word Window Punch.  I also used "Very Vintage", the new Jumbo wheel, along the top of my card.  If you click on the picture you should get an enlarged image to view this better.

Anyway, I must dash, I have my monthly card class tonight and need to get everything organised for that.

Whale of a Time!

Well I certainly have been having a "whale of a time" with all the new lovely stamp sets in the Mini Catalogue.  The whale used in this card is from "Fox & Friends", a gorgeous set consisting of 7 animal stamps, soooo cute!

Whilst hopping around the net I saw a whale sat inside one of the new Sweet Treat Cups and just had to have a go myself and came up with this.

A perfect New Baby card or it would even be suitable for a young child.  My dotty background on the Old Olive layer is made using the new "Dot, Dot, Dot" stamp from the A La Carte range in the Mini Catalogue.  My hearts were punched out from DSP using the Small Heart Punch.

Soft and Subtle

This is the make and take card we made last night at my mini catalogue launch.  I really love these soft and subtle colours, so feminine and pretty.  We used Pretty in Pink cardstock for our base and teamed it with Certainly Celery and Very Vanilla with a hint of Old Olive.  Our stamps were from "Vintage Vogue" which I am really loving at the moment and we also used one of the new background stamps "Dot, Dot, Dot" which is fab.  We used the new "Two-step Bird Punch" to punch out our bird and branch, inking around the edges using the Daubers.  We handcut the large flower image and used a Dimensional to raise it from the background.

We created a faux button using the 3/4" and 1/2" Circle Punches and tied around a piece of 1/4" Very Vanilla Grosgrain ribbon in a knot.  We used the Mat Pack along with the Paper Piercing tool to create pierced holes for decoration.
