Workshop Gifts

I always like to have a little Door Prize Draw when I am at a home workshop and here is October's prize, a cute little gift bag that could contain a sweet treat or small present for someone special.

My colour combo is Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry and Marina Mist.  The stamp set I have used is "Vintage Vogue" which most of you know is well loved by me, it is just so pretty and feminine and works with so many different colours.  I used the vine stamp to create a background on my bag base.  The ribbon is the gorgeous 1/8" Taffeta available in an amazing 13 colours!  I finished off by adding an adhesive Rhinestone to the centre of the flower.

I have a new class starting at Alveston Methodist Church next week, Wednesday 3rd November 10.30am-1.00pm, make 6 cards for £10 or a £20 order, if you would like to book a space, please email, call or text me for more information.

Thanks for stopping by

3D Class Project

Back to the class at Alveston this week, this was our 3D project, a lovely Christmassy Pillow Box!

Our colours were Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler and Baja Breeze taken from the Colour Coach.
The stamps we used were from "Serene Snowflakes" and "Contempo Christmas".

We stamped snowflakes from the "Serene Snowflakes" set in Kraft Whisper White ink all over the Soft Suede base and Cherry Cobbler belly band.  The layer beind the Cherry Cobbler piece is Baja Breeze.  The Ornament stamp is from "Contempo Christmas" and we stamped this 3 times then punched them out using the Ornament Punch, sticking them together to create a 3D decoration for our Pillow Box.  We tied a piece of Organza ribbon around the whole box with a knot just above the ornament so it looks like it is hanging from it!

When using the Kraft white ink you need to remember that it is a Pigment Ink, therefore it dries much slower than the Classic Stampin Inks but the effect is gorgeous on deeper colours.

Alveston Making Gifts & Cards Class

Our card for this class was created using another of the new sets called "For Everything".  It is such a pretty set complete with 11 stamps which are all beautiful and very feminine.  The set comes with two greetings, the one used below "friendship" and the other being "Thanks for everything you do".

Our colour combo was taken from the fantastic Colour Coach which you can find on Page 81 of the catalogue.  It helps you put together custom colour schemes and has suggestions for colour combinations which are just lovely.  So here I used Pear Pizzazz, Rich Razzleberry and Baja Breeze (the Colour Coach suggested I use Tempting Turquoise but I wanted to show one of the new colours so chose Baja Breeze which worked as well)

We used the new Scallop Trim Border Punch which is so pretty, you can even by the corner punch which will enable you to create decorative panels along with the Border Punch.

We used some of the gorgeous Basic Pearls on the flower centres and to the bottom left of the card.

The background was stamped with the "Sanded" stamp which I have become attached to recently, it gives such a lovely effect.

We finished by added a piece of the 5/8" Satin Ribbon in Marina Mist which co-ordinated beautifully with the other colours.  If you are liking the ribbon, why not join in with my October Share, get 1 1/2 metres of 8 colours of the 5/8" Satin Ribbon for just £6.25 so thats 12 metres in total.

Thank You's

I decided to use one of my new stamp sets "Growing Green" on some Thank You cards that I needed to create.  My colour combo is Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz and Very Vanilla.  I also used one of my new Jumbo wheels for the background, this one is called "Texture" and I love it, I know, I'm doing it again but I really do love it!!!  My main image was stamped with Early Espresso Ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock, this is such a delicate image, just crying out to be watercoloured!  My greeting is from "Pocket Silhouettes" punched out with the new 1 3/8 x 5/8" Oval Large Punch to which I added a daubed edge.

I attached a piece of 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon and added a punched flower from the Boho Blossom Punch finishing with one of the new Basic Pearls which are great, self adhesive, so quick and easy.  Behind this layer I added a strip of Pear Pizzazz card just to break up the colour and snipped one end in a "v" shape.  To finish I daubed all around the edge of the Crumb Cake base layer in Early Espresso ink.

More from Contempo Christmas

Another card we made at a recent class, again using "Contempo Christmas".  On the tree we stamped it in Pear Pizzazz ink and added some Dazzling Diamonds uisng the Two-Way Glue Pen, the results are stunning, such a lovely sparkly finish.

The colour combo is Pear Pizzazz, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake, teamed with Whisper White.  We used a strip of DSP from the Greenhouse Gala pack and added a border using the Scallop Border Punch, piercing holes in each scallop with the Paper Piercing Tool.

The greeting was stamped in Early Espresso Ink and I used a dauber around the edges of the card to finish.

Contempo Christmas Shoebox Swaps

A couple of weeks ago, us "Incaholics" got together at Jane's for our monthly gathering.  We had a Shoebox Swap and here is my creation.  A lovely combination of Pear Pizzazz (In Colour), Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Whisper White.  We used some of the gorgeous 1/8" Taffeta in matching Early Espresso and tied in a knot around the top layer.  The circles were punched using the 3/4" and 1/2" circle punches adding Silver Brads to the centres for texture.  The greeting was stamped without the aid of a Stamp-a-ma-jig which is way out of my comfort zone but the lovely Clear Mount Stamps made this a breeze!  As usual with me, most of the edges have been daubed!

Coming soon is another card we made at the monthly class, again using Contempo Christmas in the same colour combo.

And the winner is.....

So going back to last week, I offered the new "In Colour Kit" in a draw for those people who placed an order for £40 before 5th October, and after waiting until I got together with a group of crafting ladies last Thursday morning to carry out the draw with lots of witnesses present, I can now reveal the winner to be Sara Hussey, well done!  There is a consolation for all those of you who were unlucky this time, keep an eye on your letter boxes for a little something from me to say thank you for taking part.

I have been busy preparing for my October home workshops, designing make and takes, demonstrations and Hostess gifts along with other gifts for guests, but I will be able to show you some other creations soon, along with details of some new classes that I have coming up.

Swaps for High Wycombe

This is my swap that I designed for the High Wycombe Training last month.  I created 40 card fronts and half way through wished I had made them a little simpler!  I used the "Kissing Technique" on the "Flower Accent" stamp so had to clean my stamp between every use!  I kissed the "Flower Accent" stamp with the "Fine Flourish" mini background stamp in the lovely new "Pear Pizzazz" ink then hand cut them out using a dauber around the edges to define it.

My colour combo is Soft Suede, Pear Pizzazz, Bashful Blue and Whisper White.

The greeting stamp is from a new set called "Perfect Punches" and I trimmed it down with the Plain Oval Punch, the actual image has a scallop edge like the Bashful Blue layer behind.  The circes were punched from the 1/4" Circle Punch which I am very sad to say has now retired and I added Crystal Effects to these to make them shine!

Awww, what a "Bundle of Love"

My first class since the release of the new catalogue and I couldn't resist using new stamps and colours for both projects!

Our first card was created using the very cute stamp set called "Bundle of Love", which is available in both Wood and Clear Mount.  The colour combo used was Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla, yummy!  Our Technique for the evening was Paper Piecing which we used on the pram, stamping a second image onto the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper and handcutting the required piece which we layered over the top of the original stamped image using a Dimensional.

We used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to place the baby inside the pram and hang the booties on the handle!  We coloured the booties with Baja Breeze using a blender pen with ink from the stamp pad lid and then attached silver brads to the centres of the wheels.  The "congratulations" greeting is also from this set which contains an amazing 16 stamps.
The pretty Scallop Circle is from "Perfect Punches", covering over the Christmas greeting with a 1" Pear Pizzazz circle to which we added a heart using the Small Heart Punch, covering it with Crystal Effects.  We tied Silver Elastic Cord around the top layers behind the scallop circle.

If you would like more information about ordering any of the products I have used on the above project, just email me at stampinkerry@aol.com for further details.

Team Challenge Met!

From this

to this

At our previous monthly "Incaholics" meeting Jane set us a challenge to create something with the Party Gift Box in the first picture (which I have to shamefully admit to stealing the picture from Caroline as I dismantled mine before taking a photograph!)

I had just received my pre-order of new products and had to cut into this gorgeous Designer Series Paper "Greenhouse Gala" after stroking it for quite a while!  I just love the colour combo of Early Espresso, Baja Breeze and Pear Pizzazz (Pear Pizzazz is one of the new "In Colours") and the gorgeous patterns that co-ordinate with one of the new stamp sets "Ornate Flowers".

I took the party box apart and used it to re-design templates to make a new box, this time turning it up the other way around and adding handles.  It took me a couple of attempts to get it right but once complete I was really happy with the end result.  My flower was created using the 5 Petal Flower Punch and I added some of the new 1/8" Taffeta Early Espresso Ribbon to the centre, the idea for this was taken from a swap I received at High Wycombe last month.
We really do have fun at our team meetings, it's great getting together, the excitement and energy we share is fab and being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is definitely the best job in the world.  If you would like to find out more about being a Demonstrator and joinging my team just email me at stampinkerry@aol.com for more details on the new lower priced Starter Kit with hugely discounted products.  Work hours to suit you, full or part time having fun as you work meeting so many lovely crafty people, what more could you want!

Ornate Flowers

As a Demonstrator for Stampin' Up! I am able to pre-order products before they are released to the general public and also get sneak peaks of Catalogues etc and this is one of the sets I pre-ordered, "Ornate Flowers" which is just gorgeous.

My colour combination is Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz and Baja Breeze.  "Ornate Flowers" is available in Wood Mount and Clear Mount and I chose the Clear Mount option which I just love.  The Clear Mounts come in a DVD style case, they take up less storage space, they are cheaper than wood mount and the results are just as impressive!  All you need to do is invest in a couple of clear mount blocks and you are well away, they are so easy to mount too!

The Designer Series Paper is from "Greenhouse Gala" and it really is gorgeous, I know I say that about everything Stampin' Up! but it's true!!  I stamped the flower image in Pear Pizzazz and then again in Early Espresso and hand cut the flower head from the Early Espresso one, layering it on top of the Pear Pizzazz one to give a decoupage effect.  I used "Tiny Tags" for the greeting and punched it out with the co-ordinating Jewelery Tag punch and tied to a piece of the 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon in Early Espresso.  The leaves were punched from the Two-Step Bird Punch and the tiny circles to the right of the card were punched using the 1/8" handheld punch to which I added Crystal Effects.

I will be putting a class together using these "Greenhouse Gala", details to follow shortly.

If you like any of the products I have used above and would like to place an order, just email me at stampinkerry@aol.com for more information on ordering.

Don't forget, for every 6 orders I receive between now and 5th October for £40, your name will go into a draw to win the "In Colour Kit", see yesterday's post for more details.
