Scrapbooking Class 6th April

This is the first layout we will be completing at the next Scrapbooking Class on Tuesday 6th April. We will be using the Designer Series Paper called "Tea Party" which has the colours Almost Amethyst, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, So Saffron and Basic Gray incorporated. These papers are really pretty and the colours work so well together.

We will be making our own embellishments as usual using the papers and co-ordinating cardstock along with some of the punches and using some of the Die Cut Blooms as templates.  I have used Schoolbook Serif for my stamped title on this layout.

Second layout to follow shortly!

Monday Card Class

Thank you to everyone who came along to my card class last night, I hope you all enjoyed it, and well done to those of you you came along for the first time, you all coped really well, I hope you had fun!!

Here is one of the cards we completed using "Touch of Nature" which is a really lovely set comprising of 7 stamps, all with a nature theme.  For this card we only used 3 of the stamps, one for the background and the two on the main layer of the card.  We stamped the flower four times and used Dimensionals to raise two on top of each other.  The butterfly image was stamped using Old Olive ink, hand cut and adhered only along the body so that its wings were free to fold up giving it a 3D effect!

We put the card together using Night of Navy cardstock as the base and teamed it with Old Olive, Whisper White and Kraft.  We used the Scallop Border Punch to create a decorative edge at the bottom of the card and paper pierced rows of holes at the top and bottom of the Night of Navy top layer.  The "foliage" stamp was inked with Old Olive and randomly stamped over Whisper White to create a background.

Recipe:
Stamps: Touch of Nature
Inks: Night of Navy, Old Olive
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Old Olive, Kraft, Whisper White
Accessories: 1 3/4" & 1 3/8" Circle Punches, Scallop Border Punch, Mat Pack & Paper Piercer

A bit more manly??

If you read yesterday's post, this is the second "man" card that I made, and I am still not 100% convinced that its manly enough but I liked the finished product and as it was for a young man I decided it would be suitable.  The stamp is from "Happy Moments" which was one of the Sale-a-bration sets which sadly is no longer available.  The greeting is from "Wow Flowers" which I tend to use frequently as it fits perfectly inside the Word Window Punch.  My colour combination was Whisper White, Basic Black, Old Olive and Ruby Red and my greeting was stamped using the Kraft Whisper White ink.

Man Cards!!

I made this card earlier this month for a male birthday, but when I finished it I wasn't convinced it was masculine enough so ended up not sending it and making another one!!

I used "Circle Circus" stamps to create the background stamped onto Whisper White cardstock in Basic Black and Real Red ink.  My greeting is from "Say it with Scallops" and punched it out using the co-ordinating Scallop Square Punch.  These two items are part of this month's promotion called "Perfect Pairs" so if you were to purchase "Say it with Scallops" stamp set you would be eligible to purchase the Scallop Square Punch for a special price of £10.00 (normally £12.50).  I layered the scallop square stamped image onto squares of Whisper White and Basic Black Cardstock.  I added a piece of Silver Elastic Cord at the top, tied with a knot to finish.  I really do find man cards a challenge and I know I am not alone!

I think I may challenge myself to create two man cards for my next card class in April, what do you think ladies??

Card Classes

This was the second card we made at my last card class before I went away.  We used "Simply Said" which is one of the sets on the March Stampin' Up! promotion which if purchased will enable you to buy one of the selected punches at 20% off normal the normal price.  Along with this we used the new Full Heart Punch which is only available while stocks last until the end of March and it co-ordinates perfectly with "Simply Said", and if purchased together with one of the "Perfect Pairs" stamps sets can be yours for just £10.00.

The "Thank You" greeting is from "Wow Flowers" a really cute set and this stamp also works really well with the Oval Punch.

My colour combination is Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White.  "Simply Said" is a 2 Step Stampin' set which requires the use of the Stamp-a-ma-jig to layer the stamps.  We used the 5 petal punch to layer behind the flower stamp to the right of the card near the front and the large flower at the back which encases the greeting, was cut by drawing around one of the Die Cut Flowers Blooms.

Recipe:
Stamps: Simply Said, Wow Flowers
Inks: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink
Accessories: 5 Petal Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8" & 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Die Cut Bloom for Template, Silver Brad, Full Heart Punch, Eyelet Border Punch

I'm Back!!!

Wow, what a fantastic week we had in Las Vegas, we celebrated my husband's birthday on Sunday by flying over the Grand Canyon via Helicopter which flew down into the Canyon where we had a Champagne breakfast, something we will remember for the rest of our lives!  I have to say that I am feeling rather tired since returning yesterday, we did a lot of walking during the week and after the 10 hour flight home and the time difference I am sure it will take me a week to get back to normal!!

I will be back later with the winner of the draw for the Ink Pads/Caddy along with a runner up who will receive a Hostess stamp set.

Monthly Card Class

As I am going away I had to re-schedule my monthly card class so I held one this week and will be holding another one on Monday 29th March to replace the one on 22nd March.

This is one of our creations from Monday evening:

The flower image is from the stamp set "Live Your Dream" which is just lovely, we stamped it twice onto whisper white cardstock then handcut the second image and raised it above the first using Dimensionals.  It is really effective as we coloured the stamp using 3 different coloured Stampin' Write Marker Pens, Old Olive, Ruby Red and More Mustard and when I saw a swap my upline received I just had to use it as I just loved the colours and the sketch.  The greeting was stamped using the "Oval Alls Stamp Set which co-ordinates with the Oval and Scallop Oval Punches.

Recipe:
Stamps: Live Your Dream, Oval All
Ink: Ruby Red, Old Olive & More Mustard Marker Pens
Cardstock: Old Olive, Ruby Red, More Mustard, Whisper White
Tools: Oval & Scallop Oval Punches, Mat Pack & Paper Piercer, 5/8" Grograin & 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon

Birthday Wishes

I made this card for my sister-in-law's birthday a little while ago and I was really pleased with the result.  I cased the idea from Michelle Last as I just loved the way she used the stamp from Circle Circus to create a patterned paper effect on the lower section.  I used her layout and then added my own version of the top part, using another of the stamps from the Circle Circus set backed using the Scallop Circle Punch.  I have to say this wasn't a quick card to make, but I loved the finished product.

Stamps: Circle Circus, Wow Flowers (Greeting)
Inks: Basic Black, Rose Red
Cardstock: Rose Red, Regal Rose, Basic Black
Accessories: 1" Double Stitched Ribbon
Tools: Corner Rounder, Scallop Circle Punch, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Word Window Punch

Simply Said, Thank You's

I am always in need of Thank You cards and I made these recently for some customers.  My colour combo is Perfect Plum, Certainly Celery and Very Vanilla.  The stamps used are from Simply Said which we used at my last card class.  This set also includes two lovely greetings.

I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to place the "heart wording" (my name for this stamp!) around the floral heart which was stamped using Perfect Plum ink.  I punched a border using the Eyelet Border Punch on the Certainly Celery layer to add interest.

Recipe:
Stamps: Simply Said
Ink: Perfect Plum, Certainly Celery
Cardstock: Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Certainly Celery, Very Vanilla
Tools: Eyelet Border Punch, Paper Piercer

March Scrapbooking Class

Last night I held my second Scrapbooking Class which I thoroughly enjoyed and I hope you ladies did too, although time did run away with us again!!

Here are the layouts we created:

I seem to be a little "attached" to Crystal Effects at the moment, just love the glaze it creates!  All of these three layouts were created using only "Bella Bleu" Designer Series Papers along with the 12x12 Kraft and Very Vanilla, the other colours used were Ruby Red, Blush Blossom and a smidge of Regal Rose.

If you would like to join my Scrapbooking Classes, please email me at stampinkerry@aol.com for further details.

Having a weekend away!

I am off this morning to a Scrapbooking Retreat in Warrington, still have to finish packing my bags and several other things to get sorted before I go, I just don't know where the time goes and will be glad when I am on my way.  My roomie for the weekend is Lorraine, a fellow SU Demonstrator and I am hoping that we will have fun and I expect we will come back shattered from all that crafting and talking!

I will try to blog while I am away, but no promises!!

Don't forget the next Scrapbooking Class is on Tuesday 9th March, 7.00pm (not 7.30pm as I am quite often telling people, sorry!!)

Inspiring Inkin' Challenge #21

OK, this is my attempt at the latest Inspiring Inkin' Challenge #21 which you can see here.  Our challenge was to make a 3D box that would hold some cards and then to make the cards to go inside!  Well for me this was just perfect as I have been making these as Door Prize Gifts at my recent Home Workshops.  So here it is.

The box is a Pizza Box style and this one was designed by Shirley Foster and I just love it.  I have used the stamp set "Love You Much" with this one to decorate it and created 4 square cards to fit inside which are just so cute if I might say!!
I think these make a perfect little gift and could be decorated in so many different ways.
