Happy New Year!

So it's been a little quiet around here over Christmas, I have taken a break from blogging after being away Ski-ing for Christmas and spending some time with the family.

In 2015 I plan to reduce my working hours and spend a little more time doing more of the things that are important to me and to make more time for those who are important around me.

I couldn't let Christmas slip by so quickly without sharing this project with you.  It's a sampler frame we made at one of my classes in December and I love how it turned out.  The idea came from the displays at Convention in Brussels and when I came across the frame I knew exactly what I was going to do with it!

I used the "All is Calm" designer series paper then a few different stamp sets

Festival of Trees with matching Punch
Wonderful Wreath with matching Framelits Dies
Holiday Home with matching Framelits Dies

I die cut the word "WINTER" using Silver Foil cardstock

This wasn't a difficult project to put together and I can see many other uses for this frame so watch this space!

Trimming the Tree

I love that Stampin' Up! gave us a Christmas Tree punch and what's even better is that it co-ordinates with a set of stamps called "Festival of Trees".

Here I stamped a tree in Lost Lagoon ink onto Lost Lagoon cardstock then used Craft White ink and White Embossing Powder to trim it!  I love heat embossing, such a lovely effect.  Once heated I punched out the tree with the Tree Punch.

If you purchase the Stamps and Punch together, you can save yourself a whopping 15% which is a great saving.

The Pear Pizzazz tree to the left is another image from the same set and the greeting is too.

I used my Texture Boutique machine to emboss the Pool Party layer with the large Polka Dots.

I used my Star Punch from the "Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack" and punched out a Silver Glimmer star to top the tree.

All in all a pretty easy card to using just one stamp set.

Festival of Trees

Good morning, another Christmas Card to share with you today.

This stamp set "Festival of Trees" is just so easy to use and I love how you can layer the images on top of each other or leave the trees undecorated.

My colour combo is
Lost Lagoon
Pear Pizzazz
teamed with Whisper White

I embossed the first layer using the large polka dot embossing folder, I love everything spots so this is one of my faves!

Using my Big Shot machine I die cut a frame using the "Window Frames" framelit dies in Pear Pizzazz cardstock, then used the co-ordinating Piercing Pack to poke holes around the outside using the template.

My greeting came from the "Bright and Beautiful" stamp set, inked up with Lost Lagoon ink.  The ribbon behind can be found in the Autumn/Winter catalogue, I love how everything co-ordinates.

I stamped the trees onto Lost Lagoon cardstock using the same coloured ink, then with Craft White Ink I stamped the "tinsel" stamp and dipped into my white embossing power and heated using my heat tool.

I punched a couple of Silver Stars using the star punch from the "Itty Bitty Accents" punch set and added to the top of the trees.

I hope you like today's card.

Festival of Trees

Are you loving the new Autumn/Winter Catalogue?

I certainly am and I'm enjoying being creative with some lovely seasonal products.

Today I have a card that I designed and was inspired by the actual Catalogue itself.  Inside I found an image of a tag that had been designed similar to the circle on my card so I just adapted it to work for my project.

I love the new "Festival of Trees" stamp set, it's a new Photopolymer set and it has a matching Christmas Tree Punch which is great.

Do you like the new Embossed Frame, it's called the "Filigree Frame".

To create this look I firstly cut a circle from the new Kraft cardstock, which I have to tell you is lovely in real life, a great colour and a brilliant weight too.  I used the Circles Framelits for the circle, then I took a post it note, punched out a Christmas Tree near the sticky edge, placed the cut out post it note tree in the centre of my circle of Kraft cardstock, then finally took my Tree punch and lined it up with the post it note so that I wasn't going in "blind" and that my tree would be punched centrally in the circle.  I am sure you do this all the time, post it notes are so handy for this technique.

The Festival of Trees set comprises of 5 different trees and you can also do a little "2 Step Stampin'" with it too!

The Snowflakes are from the new Frosted Sequins pack, it also contains lovely Silver Sequins too and there's so many in the pack they will spread across many of your projects.

My favourite "red" for my Christmas creations is "Cherry Cobbler", what's yours?

I have to dash now, off to a class.

Maybe you'd like to see some of the new Christmas products, why not book a party in your home and get to see them in action!
